Biography

 

Aaron G P de Giorgio joined the St John Rescue Corps in September 1999, on the invitation of the then Corps Commander Marquis Buttigieg De Piro, to serve as Press and Public Relations Officer.  He subsequently qualified in basic rescue and was commissioned as a Divisional Officer (Grade VI) in 2000. 

 

He was also appointed Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Corps Commander, a post which he held until December 2005 due to increasing demands on his time.  He was subsequently promoted to Senior Divisional Officer (Grade V), the equivalent of Staff Officer (Grade V).  As an ADC, Aaron de Giorgio was closely involved in assisting the Corps Commander with internal and external administration, liaison and representation, averaging 20 to 30 hours weekly.

 

He was admitted in the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem as an Esquire, by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, for his voluntary service to the Order and his hard work.  In 2006, Aaron de Giorgio was also appointed Staff Officer Press and Public Relations for St John Ambulance – Malta GC.

 

Having worked for the world’s leading luxury hotel chain and for a local auditing and corporate management consultancy firm, in April 2002 Aaron de Giorgio joined a British international independent financial services group, where he is now an adviser and compliance officer.  For the past seven years, he has been deeply involved in a large number of voluntary and humanitarian organisations and foundations, and he has received international recognition for his commitment and dedication.

 

He was made a Knight Grand Cross of the The Military Order of the Archangel St Michael the Miraculous of Spain by HRH Prince George Bagration de Moukhrani, Head of the Royal House of Georgia, a Knight Grand Cross of Justice of The Royal Confraternal Order of São Teotonio of Portugal, by the Infante of Portugal HRH The Duke of Viseu, a Knight Commander of the Imperial Order of the Dragon of Annam of Vietnam, by HIH The Crown Prince Bảo Long of Vietnam, a Confrère of the Most Ancient and Most Illustrious Royal and Pontifical Arch-confraternity of Valencia, an Officer Companion of The Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem, by HRH The Duke of Seville of Spain, where he has also been admitted as a Member in the Companionate of Merit of Order of St Lazarus, and was awarded the Crusader’s Medal.

 

He is an Academician of The Royal Academy of Genealogy and Heraldry of King Alphonse XIII of Spain, a Corresponding Academician of The Academy of Wine of the Kingdom of Valencia in Spain, and is the elected Hon Secretary and Hon Press and Information Officer of The Association of Foreign Title Holders in Malta, he is the Delegate for Malta and accredited Ambassador of the Monarchist Alliance of Italy, under HRH The Prince Amadeo of Savoy and Chancellor for The Priory of Malta of the Order of the Archangel St Michael.  He is also a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London, where he is also a Member of the Institute’s Life and Pensions Faculty, and a Member of the George Cross Island Association (Malta GC Branch).

 

Past posts and appointments include that of Chairman of HM The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations in Malta in 2002, under the auspices of The Monarchist League of London, Malta Representative of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Initiatives Against Unemployment of Berlin-Steglitz and Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Grand Chancellor of The Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem.

 

Aaron de Giorgio is married to Rosanne (née Busuttil), a Dame Grand Cross of Justice of The Royal Confraternal Order of São Teotonio of Portugal and a Member Companion of the Order of St Lazarus.  Dame Rosanne graduated as Bachelor of Education from the University of Malta and teaches at Stella Maris School in Balzan.
